Subject: "Mean People Suck" should be Atlanta Pride's Theme
I got an email today announcing Atlanta Pride's new theme and it made me
think - their theme should be "Mean People Suck!"
The press release was dripping in hypocrisy when it stated "while the City
of Atlanta and a growing number of large companies have inclusive employment
non-discrimination policies, there are no federal or Georgia state laws
prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual
orientation or gender identity." The hypocrisy stems from the fact Donna got
me outed and fired from my job at BellSouth/Accenture last year and she is
right - there is no constitutional protection for gays and lesbians - and no
recourse for people like me. This inequity in society has served Donna well.

So the new Atlanta Pride theme should read "Mean People Suck!"
