Los Angeles announced this week they are bidding for the 2010 Gay Games.

That's all fine and good but a complete waste of time on their part. From my experience with the Federation of Gay Games, I have come to the understanding the goal of the Federation is to alternate between North America and the rest of the world when deciding who will host the Games. If Los Angeles wants to bid for the Games they need to be looking at 2014.

It is doubtful Atlanta will bid on the Games in the forseeable future. Margie Archer of Atlanta Games, Inc. (with the behind-the-scenes prodding by Ray Hom) made such a stink about the 2006 bid process being unethical which was total bullshit (see my response in Southern Voice).

The Federation of Gay Games has a very long memory and will not forget Margie and AGI's bitching. There are other reasons Atlanta would not win 2014 I cannot get into to but I'm sure there will be some big ego looking to waste the time and money of the Atlanta community. My only suggestion is DON'T!
