This story is not surprising. Syndey went through the same struggle with the Federation for the 2002 Gay Games and both parties came to an agreement in the end. I fully expect Montreal to host the 2006 Gay Games.

It would be surprising to see Atlanta chosen in the unlikely event Montreal falls through. Margie Archer (and Ray Hom by proxy) made such a stink about the voting process after the fact and the Federation doesn't forget those things.

It is my guess Atlanta came in second in the voting - but a distant second because there was only one round of voting between the four cities and Montreal received over 50% in the first round.

I'm interested in knowing who in Atlanta expressed an interest to host the 2006 Gay Games if Montreal doesn't reach a contract with the Federation - and to whom did they make that interest known.
