SoVo: Infighting stifles marriage ban opposition

Let's pick this story apart...

But, first, I saw this story coming months ago. How can you bring a person in from out-of-state to run a campaign like this? My only guess is Georgia Equality (GE) and others anticipated the conflict between the different gay groups. Having an outsider would help - but didn't.

The other point is why put this much effort and spend money to defeat an amendment EVERYONE knows will pass in November that will be overturned in a few years by the US Supreme Court. This is Georgia, for God's sake! That's one reason Thornell left GE. The only good coming out of this is building coalitions (or not) and raising the profile of future leaders - as well as proving who our friends and enemies are. GE could have used this opportunity but blew it.

So what do we have now - proof GE is ineffective, but we already knew that - but they are the only game in town thanks to HRC - and the scum of gay society is taking advantage of this disaster.

1) Kris Pierce is hired and fired. Thanks, GE.

2) Gay groups is Atlanta fight and do not get along. Duh!!! When you have people like Sherry Spencer-Stark involved you have to wonder if you can take this seriously. She is a leech on gay society not being gay and always trying to get attention. I guess the ACLU got tired of her like so many eventually do.

3) Kayla Behbahani is screwed in the process. bizvox Marketing Communications is on the case, so not to worry? Cindy Able is making a good profit now and ran GE into the ground years ago. It's amazing how people can look back and laugh. Does this fall under "conflict of interests"?

4) We have a few rising stars in the Atlanta gay community, but where are they? Why can't they get traction in this issue? My guess is the continual turf war GE/HRC wages in town.

I can only say I am glad I am not in Atlanta right now to witness this disaster.
